Two batteries (for 4x 152/45 and 4x 152/35 guns) were built by russians in 1916-17 near Humaljoki village. Together with Saarenpaa battery (4x 254/45) they were intended to protect the south-east entrance of Bjorko strait
After 1918 both Humaljoki batteries became the part of finnish coastal defence. They were reconstructed and used till 1940
